Happy Birthday to You LuLu!

Well, the party has come and gone and we are just getting everything, and everyone, back in the swing of things! THe party was amazing and we were lucky to have perfect weather in the middle of such a rainy week! In our normal 1st bday style, we had 2 ponies come out and give all the guests rides and needless to say, the kids LOVED it! Lucy was so good and just was passed around, ate the yummy food and cake. She can now say "neigh neigh" and almost all animals she says that for, well, excpet for "woof!" The evening was filled with family and friends and of course, PRESENTS!!!! Lucy scored some major gifts...Clothes, sandbox, kitchen, LIttle Tykes house and her favorite, a pink convertible! It was so cute when she got in it and hit the button to go. NOw, she's all over the place in that thing and you can't get her off without a fit! Speaking of fits...she has started to master them and will let you know when something does not go her way.

I was a little emotional on her bday, looking back at how far we've come and how fast it went. I did tear up when the whole house started singing "happy birthday" and it just seemed like yesterday it was Jack in that highchair, digging into his first cake with that babyfat face and legs. Amazing...

We thought we were off to a great spring. We went to Great Wolf Lodge with Jack while Lucy's shelves were being built and he had a BLAST!!! We swam all night and then had ice cream and a movie in bed. After swimming the following morning, we headed to T-Rex for lunch. Ross and I were beyond exhausted and Jack was just happy as a clam! We returned home to Lucy who had a major cold! This started the downward spiral...

We don't know why or how, but Jack decided to put a bobby pin in his mouth one SUnday morning. He choked, turned blue and after many attempts by ROss and I to get it out ourselves, he swallowed it and scared Ross and I to tears! Off to ER visit #1. After an X-ray and seeing that it was a bobby pin, we were told it would have to pass, and it did 2 days later! The things we do, or should I say LOOK through, for our kids!

I had a great night out with some of my girls for St.Pattys day and the following day, thought I was getting a cold or allergies. By the end of the day, in bed chills, aches, high fever. ER visit #2! Dehydrated and INFLUENZA!!!! In bed for 5 days!

Right when the flu was hitting hard, Jack decides it's a good time to cough, scream and spike a fever at 5:30am! I thought he had the flu too, so here came ER visit #3. No flu...pneumonia instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never a dull moment!

We can't believe March is right around the corner. February FLEW by and we had a lot of fun. Jack enjoyed Valentine's Day this year and had a great time at his final school party. We have been enjoying all the warm days outside playing and crawling around with Lucy.

Lucy's not walking yet, but we are thinking it's right around the corner. She has 4 teeth and #5 is just under the surface! SHe's enjoying table food and is trying to ween herself off babyfood! Her favorite...Mc D's chicken nuggets and fries, just like her brother!!!! 1st bday planning is in FULL swing and I can't belive it! It seems like I just did Jack's 1st bday bash!

Jack and I had our 1st mother/son dance this weekend and it was so sweet! He wanted a "black flower" and wanted to get me pink. He chose McDonalds (shocker) for his pre-dance dinner and then we had dessert at the dance. His favorite thing was the chocolate fountain! He was AMAZED!!!! We danced the night away and even shared a slow dance to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." As we slow danced and I held him, he looked at me and said, "mama, this song reminds me of you!" Tears flowed and I took a mental picture in my head of that moment, holding my "baby", dancing to that song...PRICELESS!!!!

BIG things happening!

Well, things are changing here at our house. Jack is officially not a baby anymore. He got his big boy bed and is loving it! FOr those of you who don't know, yes, Jack was still in a crib and loved it! Never crawled out or complained so we just let him be. But we bought the bed and just had it in the basement waiting for the right time to make the big change. After returning from vacation (and sleeping in a big boy bed there) we decided to take the plunge and do it! Thanks to daddy's hard work, he got it put together in record time. We have yet to finish his "big boy room" with all the bedding and decor, but we did let him pick out some sheets on his own from Target for now.

We had a BLAST in Atlanta! The flight there was good, until Jack had to go to the bathroom as we were landing. He held it, and held it, and held it until he couldnt' hold it anymore. You can guess what happened next :0( We landed but then waited 15 minutes to pull into our gate. We tried to get up to go to the bathroom, but they wouldn't let us b/c of "FAA regulations." So, we are not a fan of the FAA anymore, even though they do keep us safe. Jack loved the "hotel home" and loved his big boy bed there. He thought it was pretty cool that he could eat downstairs too. We went to the children's museum, aquarium and to Benjamin's house for dinner and fun. Before we knew it, it was time to come back home. We all missed Lucy so bad and it was great to see her and how much she had changed. She was chunky, taller and her hair grew. She was making new faces too. She had a good time too with Nane and Nana. She was held and spoiled rotten by both, a perfect vacation for a princess! Her current issue, 4 teeth coming in all at once. So she is a major fussy butt princess!

Sorry it's been almost 1 month since my last post but we have been busy! We have had an event filled month and it isn't slowing down yet. We started the month with Jack having the rotavirus! He was sick for 2 weeks but the good news was Lucy never got it!!!! We have been just hanging out, Jack started back at school and Ross has been traveling for work. This week Jack will be taking his first plane trip (he doesn't remember the one at 4 months) to see daddy in Georgia. Jack and I will be flying down together and hooking up with daddy and spending a few special days. WE plan on going to the CHildren's Museum, Aquarium and wherever Jack wants to go on his "vacation." He keeps saying that he's going on a date with mommy on the big plane! It's a much needed trip for Jack and Mommy both! Lucy will stay back with Nana and Nane and have her own little vaca here! I am sure she won't be spoiled at all and will get no attention, ha!!!!!!!!

Hang on, this is a big one! I have a ton of pics and have got it down to this many, but you have to see them all because they are just so cute!

We started by taking Becky's advice and going to Crown Center to see Santa. After an hour and a half, we got to see him! At first, Lucy smiled and liked him but the tears then started to flow. Jack loved it and told him he wanted a "roundhouse and more 'aminals'." Santa said he loves 'aminals' too and wanted to know if Jack kept his toys picked up. With a scared look Jack said yes(The next morning, we spent an hour cleaning his playroom so Jack was sure to not lie to Santa) We wrapped up the night with a late dinner at the "train place" where Jack is in heaven!

Christmas eve and Christmas day were spent opening present after present and Jack and Lucy both loved it! Jack left Santa cookies and left the reindeer food out in the snow. Santa left a ride on firetruck, "aminals", a Polar Express train, a roundhouse, dvds, books, a toothbrush and a watch. He left Lucy books, a toothbrush, Pjs, bows, and a dancing tower.

Christmas this year was amazing! It's hard to not get all sappy around the holidays... remembering loved ones who are no longer here, reflecting on the year, looking foward to a new year and wondering what it might bring, being thankful and feeling blessed....it was a very emotional Christmas for us for all these reasons. But mostly, we were just looking at Jack and Lucy and thinking how amazing life is. THings have changed from 1 year ago. Last Christmas I was pregnant and "expecting a girl", but not really knowing what to expect (if that makes sense)! One year later, we now know what that means, we now have Lucy who fills our hearts with more love and our lives with more laughter.

As Jack said to Santa in his letter, "I wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy News Years!!!!!"

Jack's fun filled week

Mr. Jack has had NON-STOP fun the past week. We went on a carriage ride at the Plaza, breakfast with Santa, a school party, "shopped" for all his loved ones at the GIngerbread shop, swam at swim lessons, made a train, and even was able to go sledding in the fresh snow.

Today was his last day of school and enjoyed a party filled with treats and crafts. What a surprise to have daddy show up and enjoy the morning. He's very excited to be home and on break for 2 weeks!

We will gear up for Christmas by wrapping presents, seeing Santa and watching Polar Express for the 100th time! Here is Jack's Christmas list; A Thomas Roundhouse, Trains, Tracks, firetrucks and a transporter. Hopefully he'll tell Santa this weekend and won't be scared!!!

I have had SOOOOO many people tell me there are NO pics of Lucy on my blog. So here is a post for just my little piggy princess, LuLu! She's 8 months now and growing by the minute. SHe says "baba" when she sees her bottle and waves bye-bye and says "bye bye." We have also found out she is most likely allergic to milk after giving her some yogurt. We have been down this road with Mr.Jack, so we are old pros now...

Christmas Musical

Jack's Christmas musical was a hit and he rocked! He had a microphone and talked to all of us in the front row. Little did he know he was talking to the WHOLE gym filled with people. We were crying we were laughing so hard. THe best part of the musical was when Jack's friend THomas tried to get Jack to give up his mic and let him have it. He "whispered" into the mic, "Jack, it's me THomas, can I have it?" Again, crying from laughing so hard. He sang his heart out and even did Mrs.Hill's movements. We continue to be proud of Jack and love seeing him in his element at school.

Lucy came and watched quietly. BIg shocker considering she babbles all day. She has moved on from "dada" to mama, baba, nene, nana and everything in between. I am certain she will be walking and talking before we know it. She loves to crawl and pull up but has NOT mastered the stairs, for now anyway!

What a treat to wake up and see snow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jack stood outside for awhile and tried to catch it as well as eat it (with Blue and Magenta, big SHOCKER there)!!! As of right now, there is snow sticking to the grass here in KC!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! We are gearing up for turkey day and the holidays. Jack only had 1 day of school this week and so we are going to watch CHarlie Brown tomorrow night and put our tree up at the end of the week. We are looking foward to spending time with both families on THursday. Jack's fav. food... meatballs and Nane's and "chickies" (turkey) at Nana's house. Both kids continue to make us laugh all day everyday. Jack is still doing swimlessons but is all excited for Christmas and told me "mama, I love Halloween still too!" When Jack's teacher asked him what he was thankful for, his reply was "cereal!" What a goof ball!

Miss Lucy is crawling around like a crazy lady and even pulling up!!!! Look out world. FINALLY she got her 1st tooth last week and now number 2 is starting and just dealing her a fit! SHe is waving "bye bye" (see pics) and says "baba" while she does it!

WE are so thankful for the 2 beautiful, smart, and healthy children we have who make our lives such a fun place! Happy Turkey day everyone!

MIss Lucy is 7 months old, can you believe it?! I can't either! SHe is ALL OVER THE PLACE, crawling like she's a pro! Her "dada" has turned into "baba" and her newest (and cutest) trick, waving "bye-bye" and we swear she says "hiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" SHe's all smiles and NEVER stops chattering! Still no teeth but I am thinking the bottom gums are very bumpy! Jack has started swim lessons and is so brave and good! I took him last week and ROss went this week. Lucy and I sat from the sidelines and watched as brother kicked, splashed and was a FISH! The coolest part today, he went off the DIVING BOARD! Dad walked him out to the end and Jack counted to his teacher, "one, two, three, I am soooo excited!" With that, he jumped! He did then did it again, and again, and again...................

Last nice fall day

We spent what's supposed to be the last nice fall day, at the KC Zoo. The weather couldn't have been more perfect! Nana came for some special one on one time with the kiddos which is always a treat. Lucy hung in her stroller and loved seeing the animals. Jack ran around and had fun, but wasn't feeling the best. He pooped out fast and got tired (see pics of him laying on a bench)so we finished up with his favorite part, THE TRAIN!!! Lucy loved it too. She stood at the seat and loved watching the zoo zoom by! As we were leaving, Nana bought the kids a "surprise" at the gift shop. Lucy, a pink flamingo (very Lucy!). Jack, a HUGE green snake that wraps around his body and is super soft. He thought long and hard about what he wanted to name him and he came up with a great one...JOE! Jack also told me that Joe's favorite color is blue! Wow, imagine that!? (All you BLue's Clue's moms and fans are appreciating the name and favorite color!) Oh Jack, you are too funny!

Well, we are in and some what unpacked. IT was a pretty smooth move and it was great having the movers do the heavy work. Ross worked his butt off getting all the left over toys, lamps, pictures, etc. moved over. The new furniture has been delivered and it's coming together. WE are really loving it so far. In the middle of all this, we had a great Halloween. It started off with a class party for Jack and it was a great time! He paraded the school and then we partied it up with his friends and teachers. After that, the family recharged with a nap and we were off to Uncle Frank and Aunt NIkki's for more halloween fun. Jack loved trick-or-treating with his cousins' Nina and Ella. Lucy hung out in the wagon and was loving the beautiful weather. Jack was adorable as a spider and said "thank you" after every person gave him candy! He even got mad once and said, "mom, she didn't say thank you with her manners!" Too cute! He was so sweet and i'll never forget this Halloween b/c he really got into it and we were a family, the 4 of us. We hit a TON of houses and then they pooped out and all hitched a ride in the wagon (Lucy had already gone back with a stinky diaper). Speaking of MIss Lucy...as you can see from the pics, she was the CUTEST thing EVER!!! She stole the show in her pink piggy costume. I know, all parents say "my kid is the cutest," but seriously, look at that naked fat piggy pic! SHe's just yummy! PS-did I mention that she's crawling? Look out Jack, she's coming after your tracks!

Tonight was Jack and Lusy's cousins' b-day party at River Roll. Jack actually did good skating and even went from one person to the other. He had the most fun with daddy running around while Jack rolled. Lucy and Jack looked adorable in matching "junk food t's"....Little Miss Giggles and Mr. Messy! Tomorrow is the big day, movers come at 8am. Stay tuned...

Everyone is bothering me to post new pics but we are right in the middle of moving madness! WE are officially moving on Monday so we are packing like CRAZYYYYYY! I promise I will put new pics up as soon as our computer is up and working at our new house! WE are excited, but ready to get our life back! Lucy is basically crawling, one little crawl at a time, but can get everywhere. Jack is all about writing his name and drawing pictures like Blues Clues (yes, he's obsessed right now!)! Jack had grandparent's day at school on Friday and he sang his heart out to several songs. His favorite is the "tiny turtle" song. Both sets of grandparent's came to the big day and his nana and papa took him to the pumpkin patch after for a day of fun! This was nice for mom and Lucy b/c we were both home sick and sleeping!

Sunday was Lucy's baptism. She looked absolutly BEAUTIFUL in her gown, snot nose and all! SHe was a trooper and never cried once even thought she was exhausted!!! We had a small breakfast before mass and several family and friends came to her 'big day' as Jack called it. At the last minute, father Tom decided to do a full "dunk" baptism on her instead of just her head. SHe got completly naked and was fat and adorable in just her jewelry! It was a beautiful morning and we felt very blessed surrounded by family, friends and our 2 amazing children!

World's of Fun

Saturday night, Jack, Daddy and mommy had a date and went to Worlds of Fun one last time before winter. To say Jack had fun is an under-statement! We all had a great time on such a perfect fall night. WE started with the train ride (an all time fav of Jacks) and then moved on to Camp Snoopy. HIs favorite "rollar coaster" was the caterpillar in Camp Snoopy. He rode it 4 times and he even got daddy to ride it. Sad to say, but Ross got a little sick on the kiddy-coaster! How we will ever make it to Disney World with him, I don't know!?!? Jack also LOVED the Viking Voyager! For all you non-KC people...it's a log ride complete with a huge hill that splashes down and you get a little wet. He rode that 4 times as well. We all shared pretzels with cheese and Dippin' Dots! The whole park was decorated for Halloween and even had people dressed up to scare people. Jack was never scared once which was shocking to Ross and I (I did get a little scared myself!). The night was done at 10:30 and Jack had one last thing he wanted to do as we left the park...EAT DINNER! The night concluded with a shower and lots of crying because he was so exhausted. IT was his latest night up to date, 11:15pm! WOW! In all, a great date night with my two boys! Love them to death!

Fall Weather Fun

On Thursday, Jack and Lucy headed out for a playdate at Penguin Park with Olivia, Anna, Lauren, Henry and Leo. The babies slept in strollers while the "big kids" ran wild! Though it wasn't very relaxing for the moms, the kids had a blast! Us moms decided that the next playdate was going to be in a smaller/fenced area so we could all have a little adult talk for once!

On Saturday, Jack Lucy and I headed out to the Gladfest parade to show our school spirit! We were in the parade and even though Jack didn't want to be a pirate on the ship/float...he sure had a blast running in the street with his buddy Anna. Lucy hung out in her stroller and was a good girl! We tried to get her to wave to everyone but she's not ready for that just yet! It's so fun to watch Jack talk with his friends and build memories with them. It amazes me everyday how big he really is and how there's little and little left of my baby Jack.

After a fun filled weekend at Red Barn Farm, LIberty Fall Fest and our new house, we thought it was time to give Miss Piggy her first meal! She liked it even thought most came out of her mouth. WE even tried some applesauce but it made her gag! SHe smiled the whole time!

Friday night Jack, Ross and I headed to the Red Barn Farm bash in Weston for Jack's school. Jack had fun running with his friends, dancing to the band, eating,roasting marshmallows, looking at the animals and pumpkins. We waited too long and missed the hayride though! :0(

Our little Lucy is 5 months today! It seems as if she's always been here even though it's only been 5 months! She's super active and is showing signs of crawling! Food will be next and more fat on her legs will follow!

Carnival

Last night was the annual carnival at the school. It's such a fun back to school event for all the kids. It's always so great to see Jack in his school, talking with his friends and having a blast. There was a train, moonwalk, DJ, games,face painting, and Jack's favorite...tattoos!!!!!!! Check out the cake Jack won at the cake walk with Mrs. Hill. Lucy loved being held by everyone and looked stylish... as always!

Lucy's weekend

Miss Lucy has had a fun weekend! We went to the Irish fest and she slept through the whole thing! SHe went to nana and papa's house today while we all went to Ocean's of Fun. She's still fat and sassy and loves to grab her feet, blow raspberries, adn flip onto her tummy super fast. Her personality continues to grow, she's quite the character!

School continues to keep Jack happy and doing funny things. HIs girlfriend, Anna, couldn't keep her pants up in PE so Jack decided to join her by dropping his as well. They got major laughs which fueled the fire even more! He has also enjoyed his last weekend of summer by spending time with his family. We have went swimming, played in the Liberty fountains and even went to Ocean's of Fun. HIs favorite thing was the waves but he also loved going down the "Aruba Tuba." It was a great day, just the 3 of us. The day ended with naps for all and dinner at home!

Papa's bday

Sunday mama and I woke up and made a cake for my papa's bday. We even made dinner (shocking, I know!). That night, we celebrated my Papa Marty's bday with a yummy dinner up at their house. Everyone was there: nana, papa, Uncle Ryan, TeeTee, Owen, and Onnie Connie. I got to swing, ride the golf cart and ride my Gator, all my favorite things! I Love Clifford, the big red dog

TOday Jack and I had a "date" to Barnes and Noble to hear Clifford stories and meet the big red dog himself. HIs cousin Owen("cous-it" as Jack says) was there too. THe boys enjoyed the train most but did like giving Clifford a high-5! After Jack took his pic with Clifford, he happened to peek into Clifford's eyes and said, "hey mama, who's that in there?" I told him it was Clifford in there and he said, "nope!" Smarty pants knows better. This comes after him seeing the "easter bunny" through the its eyes months ago. I sure hope Santa has a real beard this year!!!!

Practice #2 had beautiful fall like weather. Even though Jack hit the ball, and even caught a few, he still couldn't stop from filling his shoes with dirt, LITERALLY!!!!

First day of school

Once Jack got home last night from his 1st day of school, we asked him what he liked about it and his answer was "trains" (big shocker there). He also went on to tell us who cried (not him for once), that "spanish was closed", and that his teacher Mrs. Rounkles is pretty! WE asked him why she was so cute, his reply was "she has a tattoo on her foot!" The world through a 3 yeaqr olds eyes, priceless!
